In my opinion, there is far more to this drug that we still don't know or are not being told. Before I would be happy to take this long term I would like to see more research carried out.

I had no side effects from omeprazole it kept acid in check whilst I was on drugs for nerve damage Pregabalin and Naproxen.

I was given Omeprazole because I suffer from Barrett's Oesophagus. They are wonderful and helpful with acid reflux.

Use cream as u may get diarrhoea and this really helps

Profile
Omeprazole is used to treat certain stomach and esophagus problems (such as acid reflux, ulcers). It works by decreasing the amount of acid your stomach makes. It relieves symptoms such as heartburn, difficulty swallowing, and persistent cough. This medication helps heal acid damage to the stomach and esophagus, helps prevent ulcers, and may help prevent cancer of the esophagus. Omeprazole belongs to a class of drugs known as proton pump inhibitors (PPIs).
